KITA in collaboration with the Danish Ecovillage Network, LOS have received a partnership grant to develop the Ghana Ecovillage Network and promote ecovillage strategies for sustainable development in Ghana.

The partnership intervention seeks to strengthen Civil Society Organisations and Grassroots Community based initiatives promoting sustainable livelihoods in Ghana. The Danish Ecovillage Network will through the grant provide technical support to strengthen the Administrative capacity of GEN Ghana.

the partnership includes, mapping and bringing together ecovillage initiatives across the country under the already established Ecovillage Network in Ghana www.gen-ghana.org. It also includes building the network, organizing training courses to strengthen the capacity of the network and promoting ecovillage strategies in Ghana.

The Ecovillage Design Education Course will be organized to build the capacity of leaders of sustainable initiatives to be able to inturn build local capacities for sustainability.

KITA will through this partnership network with the Ghana Permaculture Network www.permacultureghana.wordpress.com to support the development of the Ecovillage Movement.

KITA will work through its Center for Permaculture and Ecovillage Development http://kitaghana.org/community/permaculture/ to enhance the successful implementation of the project.
