Long Courses
Diploma in Tropical Agriculture
This is designed for Farm Managers, Bank Project Officers, Professional Farmers, District Agricultural Extension Officers, NGO Project Officers and Development Workers. The course is intended to equip participants with requisite practical and theoretical knowledge for them to become professional farmers and agriculturalists.

The 3-year (6 semester), 1st Semester begins on August 1st to November 30th and 2nd semester from 1st February to June 30th, and it covers all relevant courses from olericulture, through apiculture, viniculture to aquaculture. project proposal design, agribusiness and agricultural research methods are not left out and students are referred to present a Project Paper in their final year. (examinations are held at the end of each semester).
Entry requirements include 5 credits for O’ level and SSS Certificate holders including English, Maths and a Science subject.
Mature students with requisite experience may also apply. Holders of NCC may be admitted to pursue the course for 3 semesters.

NVIT GDI/NCC
This course is designed to equip participants with modern agricultural skills to meet the manpower requirements in the Agricultural sector. Examinations are conducted by the National Vocational Training Institute.
The grade I is taken in the first year and the NCC in the second year. Participants benefit from the first two years of the Diploma Training and those who excel in the NCC may be admitted to undertake the diploma for one year.
Entry requirements include 3 passes, including English and a Science subject for O’ level and SSS certificate Holders. Holders of Farm Institute Certificates and other certificate holders as well as those awaiting results may apply.
Admission to these Long Courses begin in January and ends in June.
