Training

As an NGO, KITA’s major commitment is to impart modern agricultural technologies to prospective and practicing farmers, business women and men.

KITA’s center for training has developed into a college offering Diploma and Certificate courses in General Tropical Agriculture to the youth to gain a career in agriculture. The college therefore has training demonstration projects for providing high quality practical training to youth from Senior high schools and other tertiary institutions that wishes to develop their career in agriculture and farming.

The college also provides seminars and workshops on competency based agro-enterprises and other new technologies for professionals and farmers who wish to enter into an aspect of farming as a business.

After training, KITA also provide support services to ensure that the participants at these seminars begin and succeed in establishing a viable farm project.

Thirdly, KITA provides extension services and training to traditional farmers under its community development department. In this regard, youth, women, men, and interested prospective farmers in rural communities are provided free training and consultancy in order to begin or manage their farms efficiently. There are technical officers who follow up on communities to ensure that their projects are viable and helping the rural folk improve their livelihoods.
